2013 Festivals – Where we’ve been!

L’Eroica Britannia – Bakewell, June 2014

20 – 22 June saw Britain Does Vintage at the UK’s first ever L’Eroica festival – a handsome bike and vintage festival which operates all over the World!

phpThumb_generated_thumbnailjpgIt was a gloriously sunny weekend with lots of lovely exhibitors, bars, food outlets and of course BIKES! Although we’re not bike enthusiasts you couldn’t help but admire the work and passion which goes into the sport! Our highlight must have been meeting 2 lovely gentlemen on a tandem who have been trying to secure a space in the race for years around the World ‘to have some fun’. Never having ridden a tandem before these two fellas were hilarious with matching vintage attire (not quite what you would want to ride 100km in though), an iPod and vintage speakers to play traditional vintage tunes from the front of their bike and a money bag to stop off for some ‘much needed’ fuel (aka pints, although they had been told they mustn’t deviate from the course!)

This festival was a fun weekend and we learnt a lot about the rally and bikes in general!

Our BIG Vintage weekend – Scampston Hall, June 2014

scampston

This was our second vintage festival – and boy was it fun! The Saturday evening saw bands take to the stage to serenade us with vintage classics whilst we drank pimms and danced the night away – not forgetting the good 5 minute long surprise firework display which lit up the sky! Next up was the festival and classic car rally on the Sunday … the weather was perfect and thousands of vintage revellers joined us in the manicured gardens of Scampston Hall. By far our proudest weekend so far … here’s to BIGGER AND BETTER next year!

Pickering War Weekend – Pickering, October 2013

Last October we were delighted to work in association with Pickering Showground on the fabulous Pickering Wartime & 1940’s Weekend. It was great fun chatting to lots of lovely people dressed up for the occasion and to see the traders we had sourced for the show! Although we didn’t have anything to do with the planning, decoration, acts or entertainment it was a super way to get our brand out to hundreds of vintage lovers from around the country!

Field Of Dreams Festival – York, August 2013

shinybay

At the end of August we entered the Field of Dreams, for a fun filled weekend of cars, live music, fine food and ales and of course ‘Britain Does Vintage’. This festival wasn’t so big and sadly the wind really picked up – but it was great to experience another festival set up and to get our brand out further! As well as seeing all the lovely VWs of course!

Scampston Does Vintage – Vintage Special, near Malton, June 2013

festivalpage

Our first ever vintage festival took place at Scampston Hall in Malton, but this was different … very different! Not only was this a gorgeous vintage festival (not quite the beer loving, raving, fashionable music festival we’d experience at YO1) this was OUR festival (and boy are we proud of it!) Featuring handfuls of vintage stalls, vintage tea-tent, lots of live music, workshops and of course a classic car rally with around 150 vintage classic cars!  It was a simply wonderful day out and thousands of vintage lovers turned up to help us celebrate our wonderful history and culture in style! For more details and images from the day, please take a look at our blog!

YO1 Festival – York, May 2013

Our first 2013 festival experience was at YO1 festival in our lovely hometown of York (on York Racecourse)! It was a glorious day in York and attracted thousands of music loving, young, hip hop Yorkies! We pitched up with a marquee full of vintage fashion, cupcakes and the funky MoonBooth – all of which grabbed the attention of the trendy York locals! It really was great fun and Alex even managed to get Rudimental’s Drummer to vote for us in the National Vintage Awards. Fancy watching the 2013 clip? Then click !
