Most items are one offs and it is rare to ever see anyone wearing a similiar garment. Not only that but vintage clothing is very different to the modern clothing we wear today, there are so many different styles and beautiful flourishes to vintage clothing that our modern clothes just cannot come close.

Vintage clothing tends to be of a much higher quality than what you see today. Quality fabrics and hand stitching mean that every garment has been made with a care and attention that mass produced modern clothing cannot match.

For a lot of people, vintage clothing is something to love and to cherish. They are a key to past times with every garment having it’s own history and every vintage garment particular the older pieces have a beautiful romanticism about them, quite often we won’t know the history of each garment, but it is easy to be swept away to past times when imagining swirling around the ballroom in a vintage gown.
Also due to many garments traditionally being hand made and individually manufactured, vintage clothing is often seen as being much better and purer than modern clothing. They often were embellished or were made in such a way that simply does not exist in the modern world now that most clothing is machine manufactured.

Constantly producing modern clothing at the pace that it is worn (and worn out!) takes a considerable amount of energy with a real negative impact on our enivronment. In buying vintage clothing you are helping to recycle these previously loved items and giving them new life in our modern times.

To Make Money

Who would have thought clothing could be an investment? The truth is, vintage clothing can be worth a lot of money. Generally the rule is the older the better, but there is nothing wrong with buying later period garments and keeping them in good condition for later resale – that is, if you can resist the urge to wear them!
If these reasons alone cannot convince you then pop along to one of our fairs, when you have drunk the tea, listened to the music, tried on the clothes and soaked in the atmosphere, you will soon be wishing it was 1960 and you could do it everyday!
